Overview: The Victorian Bulldogge is a more recently developed breed. It is loyal and protective, but nice and friendly to its family and friends. For activity, it likes to go out for walks and even run every once in a while. It will need a leader for a master, but won't mind being told what to do. Naturally protective of its master, It will do what it can to protect against threats and will stay by the side of its family. It is a good companion type of dog.

Temperament: A brave and loyal breed, the Victorian Bulldogge is mindful of its territory and family. It gets along well with other animals if raised with them and likes to be around children. Usually, it barks only when it is important. It is recommended that its master be strong willed and show the dog who is in charge or it may become stubborn and dominant. As a puppy, it tends to chew on anything it can grab. 

History: Once the modern Bulldog started to lose popularity it was determined that a newer kind of Bulldog should be bred. Carlos Woods began to mix five different Bulldogs into one to create a new breed. Woods bred an English Bulldog, American Bulldog, German Boxer, Staffy Bull, and the   Bulldogge. After some time the result became known as the   Victorian Bulldogge in 1988.

Names: The Victorian Bulldogge is also known by the name Olde Victorian Bulldogge.

Physical Characteristics: The average adult Victorian Bulldogge can be 17.5 to 19.5 inches in height, and can weigh between 55 and 100 lb. This breed has thick bones and a large head compared to the body. Its muzzle is broad and face is short, but it does not hinder breathing. The body should be well muscled and symmetrical. The coat of this breed is smooth and close to the body.

Care: The Victorian Bulldogge should have daily walks to keep it in shape. It can walk for long periods of time, being capable of covering several miles at a time. While indoors it is an inactive dog unless it doesn't get enough exercise. A yard would be good for this breed to go and wander in throughout the day. Although being able to handle both hot and cold temperatures quite well, if it gets too hot it should have plenty of  fresh water to drink. The coat is easy to take care of, needing a light brushing every once in a while. The wrinkles on the face should be cleaned with a damp cloth every day.
