| Basset Hound General Information |
Description: Famous as the "Hush Puppy" dog, they have the head of a bloodhound and a long, close to the ground body, similar to that of a dachshund. Their short-legs and heavy bones set them apart from other breeds. Movement is humorous looking and slow, but not clumsy. Though at times they can be stubborn, they are generally mild in manner. Basset Hounds have a deep, sonorous bark. A lovely and amusing household pet for people with a good sense of humor. Basset Hounds are essentially hunting dogs with strong natural instincts and will power. Wonderful family companions as they are absolutely obedient and devoted to their masters. |
